IT management and continuity

IT that anticipates, instead of just reacting

IT management and continuity means having processes, projects and equipment under control — and a tested plan for when something fails. Your essential IT services become results for the business, and every failure avoided teaches the operation to anticipate.

With practices recognized by the market and decisions backed by data.

What is it?

It is how IT organizes its processes, tracks projects, controls equipment and licenses, and prepares for failures.

Why does it matter?

Without governance, IT lives from one emergency to the next: projects run late, no one knows how much equipment exists and an outage becomes a crisis.

How does it work?

We assess maturity, adopt market practices such as ITIL and ISO standards, set up a project office and test the recovery plans.

What changes?

IT starts preventing problems, delivering projects on time and making decisions based on data.

An example: a key server stops working

The same failure, with and without a continuity plan.

Today

  1. System down
  2. Search for who is responsible
  3. Untested backup
  4. Improvised recovery
  5. Hours of downtime

After

  1. Failure detected
  2. Plan triggered
  3. Backup environment live
  4. Operations restored

The plan was tested before it was needed — and each step has a named owner.

Where this fits: this solution is part of the IT operations front. Day-to-day IT service operations are covered in Service Desk.

Signs you need this

  • “No one can say how many computers and licenses the company has.”

  • “IT projects run late and the business cannot see their value.”

  • “The backup exists, but it has never really been tested.”

  • “IT decisions are made on an "I think this is the way" basis.”

Frequently asked questions

Common questions about IT governance

What is ITIL?

It is a set of good practices for organizing IT services: how to log and resolve tickets, how to make changes without breaking anything and how to stop the same problem from coming back. We adopt what makes sense for each company.

What is the difference between backup and disaster recovery?

Backup is the copy of the data. Disaster recovery is the complete plan to get running again after a serious failure: where the system comes back up, how long it takes and who does what. Both need to be tested.

What is a project office for?

To track all IT projects in one place, with clear priorities, realistic deadlines and the value of each one to the business. It narrows the gap between what was planned and what gets delivered.

Do you also provide user support?

Yes. The service desk, on-site support and VIP service are part of Service Desk, and can be hired together with governance.
