Semantix completed the migration from SAP ECC to RISE with SAP S/4HANA at Marcopolo, one of the world’s largest bus body manufacturers. The project integrated the Brazil, Mexico and Colombia units and was finished in under 10 months — far faster than the market norm for initiatives of this complexity.
The new platform went live in early 2026. On the shop floor, production confirmation time fell 73% — from 4.6 to 1.2 seconds per step — and the architecture supports around 2,000 concurrent users.
The migration covered finance, controlling, manufacturing, logistics, quality and maintenance, following the SAP Activate methodology. The database, originally around 10 TB, reached 5.7 TB after migration: 43% less space.
A first of its kind in Brazil, the project used automation and intelligent recognition to convert more than 158,000 objects. Over 4,000 custom programs were analyzed and about 9,000 test cases executed. More than 60 professionals took part, and the final, most critical phase was completed in six days.
The partnership continues: Semantix will design further improvements to Marcopolo’s SAP environment, focused on continuous efficiency, innovation and strategic use of data.
“The seniority and broad experience of the Semantix and Marcopolo teams, combined with rigorous project management aligned with SAP Activate, were essential to meeting the deadlines.”
